After months of preparing the turf, the horses, the jockeys and not to mention the racegoers outfits, the stage is set for the first races of the season. On day one the Lily Agnes Stakes followed later in the day by the historic Chester Cup. Day two is ladies day and where Shergar famously won who then went on to win the Derby.
Part of the magic of Chester is the people of this city who are loyal to their Racecourse. Day three is City Day and is a perfect example when the streets of Chester are packed with racegoers. Once again we see racing of an exceptional standard with two more Group 3 races – Ormonde and the Dee Stakes attract some of the most talked about horses of the season.
