      Perched on Lansdown Hill at 780 feet above sea level, Bath is the highest flat racecourse in Britain, with panoramic views across the city and surrounding Somerset countryside. Racing here dates back to 1728, with formal organised meetings beginning in 1811. Around 20 flat fixtures are staged between April and October, with the Somerset Stakes among the course’s longest-standing races.
