The history books will show racing taking place in Nottingham as far back as 1773 at what’s described as ‘Nottingham Forest’ but by the end of the 19th Century the home of the Sport of Kings had moved to the present site of nearly 300 acres at Colwick Park- formerly part of the Colwick Hall Estate.
Easily accessible from all directions via the road network including the M1 or A1, located only two miles from the main railway station and close to both East Midlands and Tollerton airports, Nottingham Racecourse is an excellent venue, centrally located, for guests travelling from every direction.

Q: Is there a Dress Code at Nottingham Races?
A: There is a smart casual dress code for the Premier Enclosure which stipulates no untidy attire, shorts, t-shirts, trainers or Fancy Dress. This dress code also applies for our Sherwoods Restaurant and Hospitality Boxes. In hot weather we do allow tailored shorts within the Premier Enclosure. Collared Shirts and smart jeans will be permitted. Anyone wearing untidy attire, shorts, sports clothing or Fancy Dress will be refused access, but please note we do not insist on jacket and ties.
