Fontwell Park Racecourse has been part of the Jump racing landscape since 1924, when local trainer Alfred Day opened the course with a distinctive figure-of-eight steeplechase layout that still sets it apart today. From four race days in its first year, the fixture list has grown steadily into one of the South of England’s most consistent racing programmes.

The recent addition of the multi-million pound Premier Grandstand brought modern hospitality facilities to a venue that already had plenty going for it. Fontwell Park Racecourse now combines a genuine sense of racing history with contemporary facilities that suit both corporate groups and larger social occasions.

Fontwell Park Racecourse: Britain's Only Figure-of-Eight Course

          Cheltenham Festival Hospitality

Set in the picturesque West Sussex countryside near Arundel, Fontwell Park has been staging National Hunt racing since 1924. It is the only racecourse in Britain with a figure-of-eight steeplechase course, providing a unique challenge for jockeys and a thrilling spectacle for racegoers. The feature race is the Grade 2 National Spirit Hurdle.

In 1949, the course made history as the venue for Queen Elizabeth II’s first winner as an owner. With over 20 fixtures a year and a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, Fontwell is a perennial favourite in the south of England.
